Call for Donations to the Catastrophic Leave Sharing Bank As you are aware, Classified employees now have a Catastrophic Leave-Sharing Program which allows for a classified employee who has a catastrophic illness or has an immediate family member (child or spouse or registered domestic partner) with a catastrophic illness to have paid time off to deal with this illness. The bank is very low! We are hoping to increase the balance in the Catastrophic Leave-Sharing bank and hope employees will contribute from their vacation leave to this bank. To donate to the Catastrophic Leave Program, an employee may only donate accrued vacation hours. Initial donation is a minimum of eight (8) hours. If you have excess vacation you cannot or will not e able to use, rather than lose it, you may want to donate it to the Catastrophic Leave Bank. Please print a donation form from the District website and send it to District Human Resources, Attn: Benefits Manager. Remember to take into account your own vacation needs before donating to the Catastrophic Leave bank. Your donation is irrevocable; once made, it cannot be retrieved.
